Nidderdale National Landscape is
a designated Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty.
It is a living, working landscape that covers an
area of 233 square miles in the heart of the
Yorkshire Dales.
It is a landscape full of contrasts and home to internationally
important wildlife and habitats. Exhilarating, windswept moorlands
and steep river valleys merge into gently rolling pastoral scenes,
peaceful woodlands and tranquil expanses of water. It is one of the
most special and protected landscapes in the country.
The small and dedicated Nidderdale National Landscape team
works in partnership with local people and organisations to protect
and enhance this beautiful area and ensure that its character and
special qualities are protected for all to enjoy.
