The Nidderdale Way
You can download a guide (free) to walking the Nidderdale Way, including self-catering near
the route, highlights of the route and things to do from the website below. There is a rich
variety of pubs, cafes, tea rooms and restaurants, which are described in this booklet, so
there is usually somewhere not too far away where you can have a cup of tea or something
to eat. There are books for sale about the Nidderdale Way (and a completer’s badge!) at the
Tourist Information Of昀椀ce at Nidderdale Plus Community Hub in Pateley Bridge.

Scar House Reservoir
The Cabin, a café at Scar House, is open every Saturday, 10am-2pm from Easter til the end of
October. How Stean Gorge is not too far away and has a café all year round from 9am-5pm.
The Yorkshire Water website below features walking routes which are free to download.

Washburn Valley Reservoirs
All the reservoirs apart from Lindley Wood have car parks (fee payable) and there are public
toilets at Swinsty and Fewston. An ice cream van parks up at Swinsty and Fewston most
weekends, but otherwise there are no café facilities at the reservoirs, through Washburn
Heritage Centre at Fewston is sometimes open and offering light refreshments. Only Swinsty
is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Grimwith Reservoir
There is a good-sized car park close to the sailing facilities at Grimwith and public toilets.
You can download the 4.5 mile circular walk at the website below. Grimwith is home to the
Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club which offers sailing, windsur昀椀ng, canoeing and paddle boarding.
